A 6 Month Business Money Plan

“He explained that he had calculated what he needed to make in profit in order to cover his cost of living and put a decent amount of money into investments. He had figured out the amount of wealth he needed to be comfortable…past that, he didn’t need any more money – so he’d stop working when he hit his ‘enough’ amount and travel for the rest of the year.” Paul Jarvis, Company of One
This quote is one that is unforgettable. When as a business do we sit and ensure we have such clarity around what we expect from our businesses and our lives?
KNOWING WHEN ENOUGH IS ENOUGH
This quote about an ‘enough’ point prompted me to get very clear on how to help business owners work out their own meaningful goals. It may not be working till your ‘enough’ point, it may be providing for the life you wish to live and then donating to charity, it could be serving a specific number of clients or making a particular impact. Either way, in business a Money Plan is one of the best places to start getting the kind of clarity we need, to make the impact we’d like to make.
THE 6 MONTH MONEY PLAN
I originally sent these three workbooks out to my email list, one workbook a week for three weeks, so they would not be overwhelmed by working on this Money Plan.
(They do get all my good stuff first. Scroll to the bottom of this page if you’d like to be on the email list to get this info first next time…)
The steps are clear-
1. PAUSE + REFLECT
2. PLAN + ALIGN
3. ACT + REVIEW
These are set out for business owners like yourself; there is no accounting lingo or technical terms.
It’s based around the Monthly Financial Review I am a huge advocate of, and you can access a FREE template here.
If you’d like to know why a Monthly Financial Review is so important for your business, check out why here.
If you’re resisting doing a Monthly Financial Review, then check out this post.
So here is a copy of the workbooks for you, because completing this 6-month Money Plan can be one of the most clarifying activities you can do for your business.
Do you have a friend with a business that could benefit from completing this together? Share away! The more financially thriving businesses the better.
